Job Description

Position Overview

Emsi is a trusted advisor on labor market data for customers across a wide array of markets. We take jobs numbers, earnings, and acronyms and give our clients the information they need to make decisions. A key part of this mission is our primary SaaS offering, Analyst. Analyst uses a broad assortment of data about the labor market to inform our clients and to help them tell their story.

We need an experienced web developer to join our existing team of devs and help us craft the next generation of Emsi products. We work closely with our product development teams to create interfaces and visualizations that help our wide variety of clients understand labor markets in the US, UK, and Canada.

We’re looking for someone who is passionate about delivering complicated data in an intelligible way; someone who wants to tell complex stories simply and clearly. You’d be working alongside data engineers, designers, and product managers as part of a high-functioning development team of full stack devs. If the way we nerd out over data hasn’t scared you away yet, you just might be the person we’re looking for.

People who succeed in this position are…

  • Adept at problem solving and attentive to detail
  • Team oriented and ready to work closely with other developers
  • Passionate about clean, well tested code
  • Comfortable with working in rapid development cycles
  • Experienced at shipping complex web applications
  • Skilled oral and written communicators
  • Able to give and receive candid feedback
  • Enthusiastic for learning and pushing the envelope
